Meet Scott Thomas
Pottsville Area School Director
 

Family:
Scott has lived in the City of Pottsville for his entire life, he is the son of Bob and Georgia Lord Thomas.

Education:
Scott is a 2008 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and is now currently  attending Lehigh Carbon Community College in Tamaqua.  Next year, Scott hopes to transfer to Bloomsburg University to obtain his bachelor’s degree in political science.

Political:
Scott is a member of the Pottsville Area School Board, his term will end in 2013.   He is also a member of the Republican State committee, which term will end in June of 2010, Scott has decided to seek re-election.    

Scott has been involved in politics since he was 14 years old.  But in 2008, he opted to seek election to the Republican State Committee, he was elected at the age of 18.  Thomas is the immediate past chair of the Schuylkill County Young Republicans and now serves on the Pennsylvania Young Republicans Board of Directors

Organizations/Community:
Scott is active within his community by volunteering at three local nursing homes since he was 6 years old.  In 2005, he was chosen as "Volunteer of the Year" at Manor Care Nursing Home, Pottsville. , He is also an active member of his church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, where he is the Superintendent of the Sunday School Program.  Scott is a member of the Pottsville Lions Club and is a member of the National Riffle Association
